West Ham FPL players
Let’s take a closer look at West Ham’s FPL team and make some recommendations.
🥅 Goalkeepers
Łukasz Fabiański has been a strong FPL performer in the past and looks decent value at £5m, but West Ham’s opening fixtures are not favourable.
They ease up a bit around Gameweek 8, and if you’re looking for a cheap ‘keeper you might prefer to go with a £4.5m option until then.
👬 Defenders
£4m youngster Ben Johnson has been attracting attention and he seems a decent bench option, but don’t expect him to start every week.
Crystal Palace’s Nathan Ferguson looks like a better bet for game time in that price bracket.
£4.5m Issa Diop started offering a goal-scoring threat from set pieces as last season wore on.
But as with Fabiański, he’s not worth considering at least until October because of West Ham’s difficult fixtures.
🏃 Midfielders
At £5m, Tomáš Souček looks like excellent value so don’t be surprised to see him become a popular pick as a cheap enabler.
He’s not nominally an attacking midfielder, but he plays box-to-box and scored 3 goals in 13 appearances in the second half of the last campaign.
Before that, he scored around thirty (30) goals in eighteen months for Slavia Prague. Has David Moyes found his new Marouane Fellaini?
Jarrod Bowen is another interesting prospect, but at £6.5m it’s better to wait and see how he goes.
🥳 Forwards
Michail Antonio is less attractive now he’s no longer listed as a midfielder, but at £6.5m he could still be a bargain.
There’s some talk he may shift out wide to accommodate the similarly priced Sébastien Haller.
But if he stays up top and even gets close to the goal-scoring form he showed after the restart, he could be very worthwhile.
