Burnley FPL players
Let’s take a closer look at West Ham’s FPL team and make some recommendations.
🥅 Goalkeepers
What a difference £0.5m can make.
If he was £5m, Nick Pope would be almost a no-brainer as a season-long ‘set and forget’ choice.
But with so many great outfield options to try and fit in this year, his £5.5m fee feels prohibitive to building a balanced team.
There’s every chance he’ll still be the best performing FPL ‘keeper, or at least among them.
But the money you save going for a cheaper alternative might enable you to upgrade another position that will ultimately score you more points.
In any case, Burnley don’t play in Gameweek 1 so there’s also that to consider.
👬 Defenders
Also £5.5m, James Tarkowski feels too expensive for the reasons outlined above with Pope.
£4.5m for left-back Charlie Taylor feels like the best option here, unless the similarly priced Erik Pieters keeps his place in a midfield role.
🏃 Midfielders
No one really to strongly consider here. Dwight McNeil at a push, but for £6m you could do better.
🥳 Forwards
Chris Wood is good value at £6.5m, but he tends to be streaky so it’s all about catching him at the right time.
He’s the same price as West Ham’s Michail Antonio and, after missing Gameweek 1, has better fixtures for several weeks.
Ultimately though it might be better to avoid messing around with cheaper strikers and try to make room for the excellent £8.5m-£9.5m options.
