It’s the Saido Berahino deadline day tweet that’s got everyone talking, and it’s got a famous admirer in the form of an eminent US rapper – Eminem, no less.

The real Slim Shady, verbally dexterous, declared himself “totally stoked and inspired” by the want-away West Brom striker’s latest emotive missive:

Everyone waiting once again for the silly little spoilt boy to make same mistake so here you go.
Goodnight all and thanks for the support

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, the man also known as Marshall Mathers pointed out the similarities between his own widely acclaimed early material and Berahino’s gut-wrenching deadline day tweet.

He said: “The cadence and internal rhyming schemes could use a bit of work, sure, but otherwise this Berahino tweet feels like the natural successor to my 2002 album The Eminem Show.

“I’ve made one or two artistic missteps since those days, but when I see Berahino’s deadline day tweet I just start hearing a cartoony-yet-angsty Dr Dre production and all the old vibes come pouring back.

“You know, I really ‘get’ this guy, dawg. I dig his plight. If I didn’t know any better, I’d also be pissed off at having my £21m transfer to Stoke totally ****ed in the A.

“Or Spurs, dawg. Not Newcastle, though, I ain’t playing with no Andros Townsend.”
