Who cares what a bunch of disinterested hacks have to say when you can get the skinny direct from those to whom it matters most? Well, good news – Football Burp’s very own Jonny Forumer, lurker extraordinaire, is here to collate choice message board analysis so you can get the lowdown from the people who really know what they’re on about. Take it away, Jonny…
Morning folks, Jonny Forumer signing in. Folk sure were confused when Luiz Suarez wound up celebrating on his own after scoring Liverpool’s equaliser at Chelsea on Sunday, so I hotfooted it on down to online Reds joint The Liverpool Way to see if any theories had starting floating around. I stumbled upon a fine example of a football forum thread, including a quite brilliant rant from one Liquid football about the increasingly common phenomenon of the Terrace Body Language Expert…

A bit odd I thought, should we be worried?
Dr. J…
Lots of people asking me about this. I like to think it’s his teammates giving him his moment in front of the traveling supporters but…
Brigant Moloch…
Colin Pascoe on Suarez celebrating his goal ”alone”
”When we got the corner Carragher wanted to get in the box, but everyone was telling him to get back and defend instead.
That’s one of reasons why most of the players choose to congratulate Carra on his fantastic assist, some even thought he was the one who scored. After the equalizer we only thought about one thing, and that was to try and get a second goal.”

Jairzinho…
They all hate him. He’s off to Real Madrid for 84 million fruit flavoured crayons.

The rest of the team were probably just worried about getting the game restarted and trying to go for the 3 points.

Hmmm, Gerrard would be doing a knee slide if he scored 1 at 5-0 down
Code72…
I really dont think there is any probblem at all to worry about and I have not thought about it that way at all, but it was still really odd and I’d like to know why it happened.

20 years ago this wouldn’t even be a discussion. It’s just the way it has gone now. Oohh the drama. Football can often be a bit like Heat magazine for blokes.
Some of the comments i read on the photo thread on RAWK are incredible.
“why are they all so sad?” Actual image: a few blokes running in the rain not smiling.
“what do you think that look means?” Actual image: Gerrard looking in the general direction of another player grimacing.
“the team spirit is incredible. We are really going places.” Actual image: A group of 18-30 year old blokes are playing footy for a couple of hours, during this time something funny happened and they laughed.
Another gem i read in a few places (including here) from when they were traveling to a game on the coach in Being Liverpool:
“why are all the players so depressed? The morale must be terrible.” The boring truth: a group of 18-30 year old blokes who see each other every single day in the middle of a 3 hour coach journey passing the time on iPads.

So true. But we all do it anyway!
