Hundreds of people have come forward to accuse Jamie Carragher of historical spitting after the suspended Sky Sports pundit escaped formal charges.

In a string of eyewitness accounts, the former Liverpool was accused of dousing innocent people in saliva in a variety of situations.

One person described the moment Carragher asked him for directions to Fazakerley and pelted him with “about half a pint of phlegm” in the process.

Another recalled winding up soaked after asking Carragher for his man of the match and receiving the answer “Sakho”.

Many more complained that they were drenched in the comfort of their own living rooms while watching Carragher attempted to pronounce the word “psychologically” on Monday Night Football.

Carragher has denied all of the accusations, doing so carefully as to not use any guttural consonants.
