Chinese supporters of Brentford are reportedly “stoked” about Thursday morning’s Carabao Cup 3rd round draw in Beijing.
The draw takes place at 11.15am Chinese time, meaning English fans have to be up at 4.15am in order to catch it.
But this will be of little concern for the hordes of Bees fans scattered around China’s various provinces.
Speaking to Football Burp, Li Wei, a Brentford fan from Shandong, announced a specially arranged street party for the landmark event.
He crowed: “In the spirit of inclusivity, we extend the invitation to fans of Doncaster, Norwich, Bolton and Leeds.
“It’s an oft-overlooked fact that lots of us in China support unglamorous teams from the English Football League, albeit we only do so for the purposes of satire.
“If a man supporting Reading in Liaoning leads to a faintly amusing notion in a spoof article thousands of miles away, then it’s all worthwhile.
“Even when Paul McShane gets a game.”
