Manchester United are set to table a £50m offer for Everton’s Wayne Rooney as a replacement for the Real Madrid bound Romelu Lukaku.
Rooney continued his recent fine form with a goal against Manchester City last night as José Mourinho looked on discretely from the stands.
Meanwhile, Lukaku’s strike in the 4-0 win at Swansea took him over the performance threshold at which Real automatically bid for you.
With England star Rooney emerging as hot favourite to replace him, Everton boss Ronald Koeman is also on the lookout for fresh fire power.
