Southampton were beaten 0-2 at St Mary’s on Sunday by a Liverpool side made up of several familiar faces to the home fans as a recently enlarged legion of ex-players came to face them.
With the addition of Virgil van Dijk, returning to the ground for the first time since his big-money move in January, the visitors had five former Southampton stars in their matchday squad.
