West Bromwich Albion’s Mason Holgate called Bolton striker Clayton Donaldson “f***ing crap” as the two sides met at the Macron Stadium on Monday night.

The defender, on loan from Everton, reacted angrily to Donaldson’s use of an elbow as they contested a header.

Both players were booked following the incident, and as the Trotters player walks away Holgate appears to mouth:

I don’t f***ing know who you are. You’re f***ing crap.

Despite Holgate’s unprofessional conduct, the stats back up his observation – in sixteen Championship appearances this season, Donaldson is yet to score.

Darren Moore’s Baggies ran out 2-0 winners on the night thanks to goals from Jay Rodriguez and Sam Field.
