Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams attempted an outside-of-the-boot free kick while appearing on Soccer AM and blasted it straight into a crew member’s head.

The legendary Gunners defender was a stalwart member of trophy-winning sides under both George Graham and Arsène Wenger, but he was no set piece specialist.

With over 660 games for #AFC, @TonyAdams wasn’t known for his free-kicks, as he proved on @SoccerAM. https://t.co/TDoMyv2krx

And so he proved on Sky Sports’s flagship Saturday morning show when he tried a Roberto Carlos-style effort on goal.

Adams got it badly wrong and ended up driving the ball into a crowd of onlookers, one of whom – a member of the TV crew – felt the full force of it.

During his nineteen seasons with Arsenal, Adams won four league titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups and a European Cup Winners’ Cup.
