See the apparent Sunderland ghost that was spotted by one viewer during the Sky Sports coverage of their 0-3 defeat to Everton at the Stadium of Light last night.

The empty stadium can be seen in the clip, as a live stream is shown on the big screens located behind the pundits in the studio.

At one point an eerie figure of what looks like a groundsman pushing some sort of gardening contraption appears in shot, walking towards the edge of the pitch before seeming to vanish into thin air.

Amongst their information on Sunderland, haunted city guides Spirit Seekers claim:

Players from the football club stated that they were concerned that their chances of success were threatened by a ghost which haunted their training ground.

Watch the video above and see for yourself the Sunderland ghost on the television, captured during a question and answer session with Jamie Carragher following the Sky Sports 1 HD broadcast of Sunderland 0-3 Everton.

@AlexParisHylton @Jmgills @SoccerAM Oh look, it's the ghost of our defence.
