See a sent-off Brazilian player reemerge from the tunnel after he is called back into the game by his team-mates as the referee changes his mind about a red card.

Palmeiras’ Egídio was already in the changing room after being given his marching orders by Jailson Macedo Freitas following a foul on William Barbio in their match at Chapecoense on Sunday.

Usually quite a stubborn breed, this official took lengthy advice from both teams as well as his colleagues following what he obviously thought may have been a rash decision.

Egídio told SporTV:

He said it was wrong and I gave congratulations to him for recognizing the error.

Watch the full incident as Egídio, the sent-off player, returns from the changing rooms after the referee changes his mind about the red card:

Unfortunately the player who was given a second chance was unable to prevent his team from losing 5-1:

CINCOOOOOOOOO!!!
