Our hero, a Manchester United fan, was getting married “into a Man City family” and managed to convince the partly Manchester City supporting attendees to take part in the gesture honouring the legendary coach.

At the start of the clip, the groom appears close to tears with his speech in full flow.

He pretends to be chocking up as he begins to talk about someone who could not be present.

A sombre hush goes around the room as everyone obeys his instructions, while the cunning orator leads them to believe he’s talking about “Kenny”.

Soon he cannot contain himself any more and says “to Sir Alex Ferguson”, before a chorus of howls can be heard in the background.

The joke brings the house down, but the groom then quickly qualifies it with:

Honestly, I’d like to think that if Kenny was alive he’d have preferred me to do that than be standing up here spouting sentimental crap about him, so…
