Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola walked past stewards holding down a pitch invader after his team won 4-1 at Brighton to lift the Premier League title.

He even flashed a thumbs-up towards the scene of the strife, although it’s not clear whether this was aimed at stewards or the man being held down.

The incident took place while City’s players and staff celebrated their success, ending the season on 98 points and retaining their crown.

After falling behind to Glenn Murray’s header, Man City went into half-time in the lead thanks to goals from Sergio Agüero and Aymeric Laporte.

Further strikes from Riyad Mahrez and İlkay Gündoğan added gloss to the victory and rendered Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Wolves academic.
