A Lincoln fan was seen holding up a Liverpool shirt at their Merseyside rivals Everton during a Carabao Cup second round tie between the two sides.

Lincoln City were knocked out of the League Cup after a 4-2 defeat on Wednesday night, despite going ahead in the first minute at Goodison Park.

Provoking the home support, one of the travelling fans proudly displayed a Liverpool shirt above his head in their general direction.

His big grin was not greeted with amusement from the Everton faithful and several stewards were forced to try and calm the situation down.
