Players and staff from both teams help tidy up.

Eintracht Frankfurt fans threw Easter eggs onto the pitch at Wolfsburg in protest at having to travel 370km on a Monday night to be there.

Making known their displeasure with the inconvenient fixture scheduling, the travelling supporters pelted the pitch at the Volkswagen Arena with chocolate treats.

The seasonal deluge brought a halt to proceedings just a minute into the Bundesliga match, with players and staff from both teams joining in with the clean-up effort.

So numerous were the Easter eggs that it took a while to gather them all up into buckets and remove them from the field of play.
