Derby County’s Richard Keogh clapped an empty stand following his post-match interview after Friday night’s goalless draw at Preston North End.
To be fair to the defender, there were some travelling Rams fans still exiting the away end at the Deepdale Stadium.
But the row upon row of vacated seats around them presented an amusing visual image of Keogh appearing to applaud no one.

The result left Frank Lampard’s side in 6th, the final play-offs place, three points ahead of Bristol City who have a game in hand.
Alex Neil’s Preston meanwhile lie in 16th but are unbeaten in their last four Championship matches.

Republic of Ireland international Keogh has found his footballing home at Derby after something of a journeyman’s existence beforehand.
He has made over three hundred appearances for the club, scoring ten goals.
