Lee Brown threw a ball onto Tendayi Darikwa’s head during a touchline spat as Portsmouth won 1-0 at Wigan on Monday.

As the row flared, Pompey left-back Brown picked up a ball on the side of the pitch and gently lobbed it at his opponent’s bonce.

After initially turning around in confusion, the Latics defender strolled back to his team-mates at the DW Stadium as if Brown’s throw had somehow eased tensions.

In the League One match itself, a 46th minute goal from Andy Cannon secured all three points for the away side, leaving them in a strong position to secure a playoffs spot.
