There were farcical scenes as ball boys somehow conspired to lose a bag of balls before Real Valladolid v Real Betis in La Liga on Sunday.

This highlights reel of the panic preceding the game at the Estadio José Zorrilla may have the feel of a sitcom, but it really did happen.

At one point we even see former Everton and Wigan goalkeeper Joel Robles watching dumbfounded from the side of the pitch before seeing the funny side.

Star of the show is the boy with the bleached-and-back-combed fringe, whose demeanour becomes increasingly fraught as he lurches from one crisis to the next.

In the match itself, goals from Aïssa Mandi and Joaquín gave visiting Betis a 2-0 win which sees them lie 7th in the table.

Valladolid meanwhile are languishing in 16th.
