See the Anton Ferdinand tweet after John Terry’s dad, 59-year-old Ted Terry, was yesterday charged with racially aggravated assault and causing racially aggravated fear of assault.

Terry, of Grays, Essex, was arrested following an alleged fight in London, that reportedly took place at around 8pm on March 22nd in Fenchurch Street in the City of London.

The Chelsea captain’s father answered bail yesterday at Bishopsgate police station and was subsequently charged with both offences.

Ted Terry is due to appear at City of London magistrates court on July 23rd alongside Tudor Musteata, 47, of South East London, and Stephen Niland, 36, of Romford, Essex, who were also charged with causing racially aggravated fear of violence.

According to reports, police today confirmed the charges, but would not give any further details.

Upon hearing the news QPR defender Anton Ferdinand, brother of Rio who Terry Jr. was alleged to have racially abused during a Premier League match last year, could not contain his glee and posted the following cryptic message on his Twitter account:
