QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has taken to Twitter with a desperate appeal to fans for suggestions as to who other than Tim Sherwood could replace Harry Redknapp as manager.

The supremo, entrepreneurial, used the eminent social media platform to source the opinion of the club’s fan base, a gesture that started out as good PR but has steadily assumed urgency as the lack of alternatives to Sherwood became ever clearer.

Sherwood of course became a laughing stock in the second half of last season when he became the Spurs manager with the highest win ratio in the Premier League era.

As a player he captained Blackburn Rovers to top flight title success in 1995, lighting up Merlin sticker books of the age with his distinctive mullet.

Tweeting exclusively to Twitter, Fernandes resorted to capitals in a bid to capture the attention of anyone who might have any ideas.

He twote: “PLEASE HELP! MANAGER NEEDED TO REPLACE HARRY, ONLY SHERWOOD IN LINE TO REPLACE. WOT 2 DO, U THINK?

“REALLY REALLY NEED SOME IDEAS HERE GUYS. THERE CAN’T JUST BE TIM – WHO AM I FORGETTING? CURBISHLEY? DOWIE? HELP?

“THE BEST SUGGESTIONS WILL WIN A FULLY PAID FLIGHT FOR TWO TO A DESTINATION OF THEIR CHOICE, AS LONG AS IT’S IN MALAYSIA.”

He added: “KTHNXBYE.”Q
