These were the best Ramires jokes doing the rounds as news spread of the Chelsea midfielder’s impending £25m move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning.
The Brazilian will be remembered fondly at Stamford Bridge for a number of key contributions over the years, most notably his spectacular lob against Barcelona in a Champions League semi-final.
But his playing opportunities have become limited of late, the player having appeared just once under interim manager Guus Hiddink.
Nevertheless, the motives of his no-doubt lucrative move to China have come under question – witness the following Ramires jokes:
Ramires probably leaving Chelsea then. Has a player's defining moment ever been so utterly unrepresentative of him? pic.twitter.com/TRWIBFB93h

If the Chinese are prepared to pay 25 million for Ramires no wonder their economy is in trouble
