Portugal qualified for the last 16 of the World Cup despite only drawing 1-1 with Iran in Mordovia on Monday night and Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty along the way.
Ricardo Quaresma opened the scoring for the Portuguese on the stroke of half time, but they were unable to add to their lead in a game littered with controversial VAR calls.
Karim Ansarifard equalised from the penalty spot following a decision from the VAR system in stoppage time, before Mehdi Taremi hit the side netting soon after.
Had he scored, Iran would have finished top of Group B but, as it is, Portugal finish second and the Iranians make an emotional exit.

Cristiano Ronaldo purposely missed his penalty just so he could become the first Portuguese player to miss a penalty in the World Cup history. Man just loves to set new records yo. #IRNPOR
