Manchester City beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park on Wednesday night to equal Liverpool’s points total and go top of the Premier League on goal difference.

League leaders before kick-off, Liverpool’s advantage over Manchester City has been eliminated over the past week.

Twisted loyalties were on show with Liverpool fans wanting Everton to win as well as some of the home support confirming they wouldn’t mind defeat if it helped limit their rival’s chances of winning the title.
