José Mourinho’s Manchester United side lost 3-1 at Anfield on Sunday evening, a result that put Liverpool back at the top of the table while Manchester United linger in 6th place – 8 points behind Arsenal in 5th.

Huge spending in the summer has failed to produce results on the pitch with United having now conceded more goals in the Premier League this season than they did in the entirety of 2017-18.

£89m-signing Paul Pogba sat on the bench for the whole game as an unused substitute.

Some sections of the fanbase have been criticising the manager and appear dubious as to whether the side can progress with the Portuguese remaining at the helm.

Fans at Anfield singing ‘Fuck off Mourinho’.

At this stage it’s not clear whether that’s the home or away support.

Don’t worry guys, after the game I’m sure Mourinho apologists will soothe us with stories of how he won at Anfield with other clubs.

Liverpool look confused with how utterly shite we are. Incredible strategy, so much for Mourinho being past it.

Roy Keane was asked how the United team of ’99' would have fared against Liverpool. He replied, "We would have won 1-0." "Only 1-0?" asked the reporter. "Yes, since most of us are in our 40's now!"#LIVMUN pic.twitter.com/7SpZK7KSSm
