A woman was filmed tearing down a “Gareth Southgate” sign on a platform at Southgate Tube, with her reason as yet unknown.

The London Underground station had been temporarily renamed in the England manager’s honour following his side’s run to the World Cup semi-finals.

Signs bearing the name “Southgate” were redesigned accordingly, alongside a message thanking the Three Lions boss for the “incredible journey”.
