With the score at 2-2 in the 94th minute, the ball finds its way through to Macclesfield’s Tyrone Marsh, who prods it past the goalkeeper in what looks like being a last-gasp winner for the National League leaders.

Clearly presuming as much, Jones turns back towards the centre cirle with his head in his hands – and in doing so, he fails to see the ball get held up in mud before crossing the goal line.

An alert Danny Whitehead swoops in to score a goal that puts Macclesfield six points clear at the top of the table, and one that could ultimately relegate Woking.
