Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt, Warren Weir and Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake joined a team playing in a Leisure Leagues six-a-side match at Uxbridge University on Sunday. The Olympic stars were training at the University at the time.
Leisure Leagues manager Sarah Gooding told Mirror Football:
Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake walked up to our members of staff on site and asked if anyone could play.
To say we were amazed would be an understatement.
We said they would be more than welcome and Usain, Yohan, Warren, Asafa and all their coaches joined up with one of the teams to show what they could do! Our players’ jaws hit the floor! They played for a team called The Underdogs, who lost the match.
They were really first class, staying to chat and pose for pictures with everyone.
When asked about whether Usain Bolt might be good enough to play for Manchester United though, she was vague:
It’s hard to say. There is no doubt he can play, certainly his pace would be an asset!
