Whyteleafe and Hythe Town had their Ryman Isthmian Football League Division One South game at Church Road called off after just 31 minutes when the referee was stung by a bee and failed to respond to subsequent treatment.

Referee Ashley Slaughter suffered an allergic reaction to the sting but is now reported to be “recovering well” after being taken to hospital following half an hour of attention from the physio.
