VIDEO: Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira’s claps make his Europa League mascot blink before semi-final

Rallying cry elicits eyelid activity.

Lucas Torreira clapped so loudly in the line-up before Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final second leg in Valencia that it made his mascot blink repeatedly.

Unai Emery’s Gunners won 4-2 in Thursday’s match at the Mestalla, triumphing 7-3 on aggregate and setting up an all-Premier League final against Chelsea.

And Uruguayan international Torreira was so fired up before kick-off that his motivational rallying cry affected his mascot’s eyelids.

So forceful were his claps that the noise caused the young girl’s eyes to open and close in rapid succession, a moment the cameras caught perfectly.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s hat-trick propelled Arsenal onto victory on the night, with strike partner Alexandre Lacazette scoring the other.
