The tiny car that has become a feature of Euro 2020 bumped into the plinth holding the ball before Wednesday’s semi-final between England and Denmark.

A marketing stunt for Volkswagen, the miniature vehicle has carried the football to the centre circle for kick-off at some matches during the tournament.

On this occasion, the remote control steering was not quite on point and it collided with the podium, knocking the ball off.

In the game itself, England won 2-1 after extra time thanks to Harry Kane converting the rebound following Kasper Schmeichel’s penalty save.
