The referee slipped over while rushing over to show a player a yellow card during Wednesday’s Paulista A1 match between Mirassol and Botafogo.

When one of the away side’s defenders scythed down a home team attacker, the ref ran to the scene of the foul at full speed.

Alas he was foiled by his own haste, losing his footing and skidding down onto the turf, almost taking out a couple of players in the process.

In the game itself, Mirassol triumphed 2-1 at their Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia ground.
