Watch referee Bobby Madley repeatedly apologise to Newcastle United players for missing a Phil Jagielka handball in the 87th minute of their 1-0 defeat at Everton.
Madley tells frustrated Magpies players he didn’t see the supposed infraction, which would have resulted in a penalty and the chance of a late equaliser for Rafael Benítez’s side.
As the appeals continue, he eventually snaps and yells “I said I’m sorry” – but the apology was scant consolation as Theo Walcott’s second half strike settled the Monday night mid-table clash at Goodison Park.
The win moved Everton up to 8th in the Premier League, four points ahead of 10th placed Newcastle.
