VIDEO: PSV goalkeeper scores own goal by picking up ball in top-of-the-table clash

Jeroen Zoet claims "this is seriously f***** up."

🔥

Watch Jeroen Zoet, the PSV goalkeeper, score an own goal while picking the ball up after stopping an initial attempt before it crossed the line in their Eredivisie clash at Feyenoord on Sunday.

Zoet managed to save Jan-Arie van der Heijden’s header in the 82nd minute but then picked the ball up while still standing behind the goal line.

The goal-line technology signalled to the referee that the ball had now crossed the line and a goal was correctly awarded.

The controversial own goal turned out to be the winner for the hosts in a 2-1 victory at De Kuip, a result that leaves PSV trailing league leaders Feyenoord by twelve points.

Zoet told NOS:

This is seriously f***** up.

The goal-line technology made the difference and things could have been different if it had not.

He went only by his watch. If that had not happened, I think he would have said no goal.

You should always keep believing in things, but the title is very far away. [It’s] a serious blow.

The only thing I thought was that I had to take away ball on the line. I did everything. What happened next, I do not know, that goes in a flash.

We can look back at the images a thousand times. It does not change anything.
