Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Rune Jarstein was one of the Bundesliga players heard cursing as the German top flight returned without fans.

His profane exclamation after taking a powerful shot to the groin was clearly audible as his side claimed a 3-0 win at Hoffenheim.

Another to be caught out by the absence of atmosphere was Schalke centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who said “go f*** your grandmother” to Erling Braut Haaland.

The Borussia Dortmund hit man went on to score soon afterwards, his tenth in nine matches and the opening goal of his team’s 4-0 victory at the Signal Iduna Park.
