Have you ever seen a player booked for showboating? That’s what happened to Baroka’s Sipho Moeti in a South African League Cup clash with Platinum Stars.
Baroka ran out 3-1 winners on the day, but Moeti’s rubber-legged antics stole the show in these bizarre scenes.
Trapping the ball with his knee before lunging in a manner reminiscent of Monty Python’s Ministry for Silly Walks, Moeti incurs the wrath of the referee but draws much laughter from the studio analysts.
This comes just days after New England Revolution’s Kei Kamara was booked for celebrating a goal by twerking.
Since there doesn’t even appear to be an opposition player challenging Moeti, you have to question the need for him to plunder his box of tricks.
But a player booked for showboating? Maybe they should ship him out.
