See a defender somehow get her boots tangled together with another player, bringing them both to the floor simultaneously, in an American women’s college match last week

The Florida attacker had made in into the penalty area before a rather out-of-control-looking tackle sent her sprawling midway through second-half of the Southeastern Conference clash.

Upon further inspection, it becomes obvious that the players’ boots had become entangled, possibly due to some of rather inventive shoe-lacing that was on show.

The video pokes fun at the incident, calling it “knot your average collision” – and they would be right.

The Alabama player though, deemed to be in the wrong by the referee as a penalty was awarded, does not appear to see the funny side.

Florida Gators, who play their home matches at Dizney Stadium, won 6-0 with six different scorers on the night.
