Watch this clip as BT Sport presenter Darren Fletcher is forced to apologise after it looked like Paul Scholes called Robbie Savage “knobhead” on live TV.
Scholes was featuring on the ‘Fletch & Sav’ show alongside fellow former Manchester United player Phil Neville.
Fletcher, knowing Savage was also a youngster at Old Trafford, said:
We’ve got two and a half members of the class of ’92.
… before Savage quipped:
Paul Scholes is taller than that.
The legendary midfielder threw his head back with laughter in response to this, before Scholes’s expression suddenly changes as he turns to the camera and appears to murmur “knobhead” under his breath.
After presumably hearing from eagle-eyed angry viewers, ‘Fletch’ say sorry on behalf of Scholes who seems to feign memory loss to an oblivious ‘Sav’.
