Someone must have noticed Papiss Cissé visiting a barber offering £6 haircuts in Gateshead, despite Newcastle’s latest hero putting on the perhaps overused baseball cap disguise.

As he left the premises pleased with his new trim, the player was quickly surrounded by excitable fans asking for autographs and getting out their mobiles for a quick video.

The new Newcastle number nine seems like a nice guy, he signed everybody’s offerings and didn’t look too grumpy:

As if to further prove this point, for those who may have missed it, upon Cissé’s arrival in Newcastle he was sent a card from young fan Sam Livingstone, 4, welcoming him to the club.

Goal-machine Cissé was so touched by this, he arranged with Sam’s father to pay a surprise visit the boy and his brother (who was celebrating his 7th birthday that day) at their home in Bedlington, Northumberland.

Sam said:

“He brought us some really great gifts and then showed us his car. It was brilliant.”

… and apparently the Senegalese striker can barely speak English – certainly Burp’s gent-of-the-week!
