See Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio booed by Newcastle United fans at Steve Harper’s testimonial match.

St James’ Park was rocking last night as a host of stars turned out in front of a full-house for Harper’s special day.

One by one they emerged from the tunnel to enormous cheers. First Baresi, next Shearer, Ferdinand…

And then, Di Canio, who was instead greeted with a chorus of boos from fans of his Tyne and Wear rivals.

Paolo, his usual charismatic self, responded by blowing kisses to the adoring crowd.

The Toon Army later had their moment to celebrate when Burp hero Joey Barton chopped down the Italian player-turned-coach (photo above).

He did warn him:
