VIDEO: Newcastle United fan builds Rafael Benítez shrine at home

Mocks up Angel of the North with Rafa's face.

Newcastle United fans have reacted with hurt to the departure of manager Rafael Benítez, none more so than this supporter who built a shrine to the Spaniard at home.

With James Blunt’s “Goodbye My Lover” providing a soundtrack, the camera shows us a Benítez figurine on the mantelpiece flanked by framed photographs and lit candles.

Rafael Benitez's managerial record at Newcastle across all competitions:

• 98 games
• 47 wins
• 21 draws
• 30 defeats
• 47.96% win ratio
• 1 EFL Championship

It then homes in on a mocked-up Angel of the North hanging on the wall, one with a Rafa mask for a head and Newcastle scarves dangling from it.

Benítez has been in charge of the Magpies since March 2016, leading them to mid-table Premier League finishes on a shoestring budget in each of the last two seasons.
