Two Nacional players dropped their shorts to distract the Maldonado goalkeeper from a free kick in Monday’s Uruguayan Primera División match.

The duo attempting the novel tactic were Gonzalo Bergessio, whose two goals secured a 2-1 win at the Estadio Domingo Burgueño, and winger Alfonso Trezza.

It didn’t quite work, although it did manage to elicit a laugh from the home team’s Argentine ‘keeper Danilo Lerda.

The victory leaves Nacional 4th after 15 games in Uruguay’s top flight, while Maldonado lie 9th.
