21-year-old Maxime Awoudja made his league debut after coming on as a substitute for Stuttgart against Hannover but managed to score an own goal before being sent off.
Stuttgart were two goals up at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Friday night in their opening match of the 2. Bundesliga season when Awoudja pulled one back for the visitors.

The first-half sub was consoled by his teammates after pushing the ball past his own goalkeeper but went on to be booked shortly after half-time.
He then received a second yellow card and was shown his marching orders in the 85th minute following a dubious decision from the referee.
