Absolutely brilliant today from the mainz fans. I've been to maybe 85 different grounds and not once have I heard Last Christmas sung #TSGM05 #mainz #wham #LastChristmas #Hoffenheim pic.twitter.com/KpHL0rML93

The travelling Mainz fans treated spectators to a hearty rendition of Last Christmas by Wham prior to a clash at Hoffenheim on Sunday.

The visiting supporters at Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Baden-Württemberg held their phone lights in the air as they sang the 1984 Christmas single by the English duo.

With just two days until Christmas, the Germans were already in the festive spirit with fans celebrating across the Bundesliga games this weekend.

The song is the most successful Christmas single of all time in Germany.

It spent 132 weeks on the German Singles Chart and has charted every year since 1997.

The match finished 1-1 with two first-half goals leaving both sides around mid-table over the break.
