Fierce Serie A rivals Lazio and Roma clashed in a fiery, yet sloppy and low-scoring Coppa Italia final at the Stadio Olimpico – a place both clubs call home. Lazio eventually emerged the winners, prompting their fans to stage Roma’s funeral.
The hotly contested cup final saw 5 yellow cards handed out within 40 minutes of kick-off, which set the tone for the rest of the game.
The match ended 1-0, with Lazio victorious thanks to a 71st minute strike from Senad Lulic.
Lazio regained bragging rights with the win and take home the Coppa Italia – their first piece of domestic silverware in the past 4 seasons.

Two weeks later, with due decorum observed, Roma’s funeral was organised impeccably by the Lazio Ultras group.
Around 4,000 Biancazzurri fans gathered near Rome’s Ponte Milvio to pay their imitation respects to a team they have beaten in four of the last five Derby della Capitale meetings.
Complete with funeral notices, priests (in various priestly outfits) and mourners, the procession of the coffin draped in a Roma flag was paraded through the city streets.
