Derby County manager Frank Lampard sang “Stop Crying Frank Lampard” with his players after they won at Leeds United to reach the Championship playoffs final.
Leeds fans had been singing the appropriation of Oasis hit “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” since winning 1-0 in the first leg of the semi-final tie.

But the Rams triumphed 4-2 at Elland Road in Wednesday night’s return fixture to set up a Wembley final date against Aston Villa on Monday 27th May.
And back in the away dressing room, Lampard delighted in leading his victorious team in a chorus of the song that was originally intended to mock him.
Well done boys I have only been at @dcfcofficial for not even 6 months but I can truly say you are joy to be around well deserved to be in the final ❤️⚽️ #PlayoffFinal https://t.co/zcIgw6LSq8

The triumph will taste even sweeter given that Derby finished 6th in the division, three places and nine points behind Leeds.
