This kitten was made to feel welcome when it interrupted a pre-season training session for German Bundesliga side Schalke 04.

Manager David Wagner, formerly of Huddersfield Town, was putting his players through their paces ahead of the 2019-20 campaign when the feline intruder appeared.

It was greeted with friendly strokes, providing a welcome distraction from what was no doubt a gruelling workout.

Schalke begin the new season away to SV Drochtersen/Assel in the DFB Cup on August 10th before going to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the league the following week.
