Chelsea were unable to overturn the two goal deficit they were left with after losing the first leg, at home, 0-2.
A major talking point in the coming days will be midfielder Eden Hazard’s sending off after eighty minutes.
In a shocking incident, the big-name Belgian international ended up kicking a ball boy in the ribs in what looked like a desperate attempt to get the ball back quickly after it went out of play.
The ball boy, presumably a Swansea City fan, appeared to milk the incident for all it was worth, but it was still a quite unsavoury cup moment and virtually ended Chelsea’s chance of finding a way back into the tie.
