VIDEO: Gent’s Alexander Sørloth drinks beer thrown at celebrating players after goal

Impressive catch from former Crystal Palace man.

Gent forward Alexander Sørloth drank from a beer thrown at him from the crowd while he and his teammates celebrated a late winner at Standard Liège.

Jonathan David’s goal deep into stoppage time ensured a 3-2 win in last Friday’s Belgian Pro League match at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne.

Drinking like a Viking should.

Several missiles were thrown from the stands as Gent players gathered in the corner of the pitch to congratulate the goal-scorer.

And Sørloth, who scored one goal in twenty games during a recent spell at Crystal Palace, managed to catch a beer hurled towards him.

He then took a swig of it before tossing it aside to return to his colleagues.

It’s been an excellent season for Genk, who finished top of the division and are currently leading the way in the league’s Championship round.
