A spectator was applauded for heading the ball back onto the pitch at Aberdeen from high up in the stands midway through a 5-1 win over Dundee.

A woman in the upper section of the Main Stand at Pittodrie rose to meet the hefty clearance from defender Max Lowe, on loan to the home side from Derby.

The commentators, broadcasting live coverage of the Scottish Premiership clash, get a clear view of the incident occurring beside their position in the ground.

Describing a “perfect” and “magnificent” header, the pair go on to use it as proof that “the ladies’ game’s doing fine in Scotland”.

Apparently the fan in question was named as Hazel Reid, a member of the Aberdeen Ladies team.
